ADK (All Day Kindergarten) Monitor- Fort Meigs

All Day Kindergarten (ADK) Monitor:  Fort Meigs Elementary
Monday through Friday
3 hours a day  –  10:45 am to 1:45 pm –  hours subject to change
$16.55 per hour

183 Day Calendar

Reports To: Principal

Qualifications:

  • Posses a valid driver’s license and BCII clearance
  • Possess school diploma.
  • Able to get along with staff, public, etc; be courteous, polite and considerate.
  • Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community.
  • Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance.
  • Be in good health, have high moral character and possess a strong attendance record.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students.

 

General Description: Monitors students in the classroom, and during recess and lunch for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students; works collaboratively with the classroom teacher.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Maintain respect at all times for confidential information.
  • Willingness to work with small children (individually and in a small group).
  • Candidates must be able to write neatly, read, and do basic math.
  • Follow directions of others.
  • Willingness to help students in the restroom and in other situations requiring hygiene.
  • Help students with their clothing.
  • Monitor will supervise students at recess and lunch.
  • Stamina and physical ability to work with young children.  This includes sitting on the floor and taking part in all activities.
  • Help and administer kindergarten benchmarks and quarterly assessments.
  • First aid and CPR training.
  • Knowledge of and ability to mediate conflicts between students.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with classroom teachers, parents, and the students.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times.
  • Treat students with kindness, dignity and respect at all times.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
  2. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
  3. Conduct other duties related to the secretary’s duties as assigned by supervisor
  4. All other duties as assigned

 

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
  2. Occasional interaction among unruly children.

 

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
